Green plantain can be cooked in different ways among which the crispy ones are always yumm for the kids. But anyhow stir fry is the key.
Ingredients:
Green Plantain - 2 nos
Oil for sauteing - 4 tsp
Salt - 2 tsp (to taste)
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp (to taste)
Procedure:
- Peel off the skin from the plantains. Slice them in thin circles.Though it wont be in proper circles.
- Heat a heavy bottom flat pan and add oil in it.
- Once the oil is hot, add the sliced plantain chips. Always maintain slow medium heat.
- Use a flat spatula to twist and turn without breaking the slices.
- Keep on turning for every 3 minutes.
- When the plantain is half cooked sprinkle some salt.
- It will take 15-20 minutes to cook crispy chips. Finally add some chilli powder and mix them well.
- Plantain fry is ready to go as the rice side or as a snack.
