  • Garlic - 4/5 Pods(Optional)
  • Tamarind - just little
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tsp

Procedure:
  • Heat pan pour oil and roast urad dhal, till golden color. Keep it aside in a plate.

  • Roast channa dhal till nice aroma and add it to the urad dhal.

  • Roast coconut and mix it with the dhal.
  • Roast cumin seeds till it sputters and add it to the mixture.

  • If adding garlic, smash garlic pods and roast them, till aroma comes out.

  • If You are using dry red chillies, roast them and add it to the mixture.

  • Let the mixture cool down and add tamarind, red chilli powder (alternate to red chilllies) and salt to them and dry grind them in a mixer, coarsely.

Your chutney podi is ready to serve with gingely oil or coconut oil or olive oil, which slightly varies the taste of the podi.
